Dr. Lavine - President

Lorne Lavine, D.M.D, is the founder and president of Dental Technology Consultants. Dr. Lavine demonstrates his involvement and fascination with Computer technology by holding two prestigious certifications. The A+ Certified Technician designation is granted to those individuals who have successfully demonstrated proficiency in computer repair and knowledge of computer operating systems. He also became a Network+ Certified Professional, illustrating his expertise in network design, installation, and troubleshooting.

Dr. Lavine previously practiced periodontics and implant dentistry in Vermont, and recently established a Dental Technology Consultants office in Woodland Hills, CA. His career is enhanced by his commitment to continuing education, his academic awards and appointments, and his involvement in local and national dental organizations.

After earning his D.M.D. from Boston University, Dr. Lavine completed his residency at the Eastman Dental Center and received his specialty training from the University of Washington. His educational background is highlighted by an exemplary academic record and superior achievement.

While attending Boston University he received the Alpha Omega Fraternity Award and the Alpha Omega Award for the highest Junior-year GPA, and for graduating with the highest GPA of the class, respectively. He also earned the Pierre Fauchard Award for his contributions to research and literature.

Dr. Lavine demonstrates his commitment to remaining abreast of the latest advances in dental office technology, periodontics and implant dentistry by frequently attending continuing education courses, most recently at the DentalTown annual meeting, and at the Yankee Dental Congress. Dr. Lavine's commitment to dentistry is evidenced through his past involvement in several local and national dental organizations. He was a member of the American Dental Association, the Vermont State Dental Society, the Vermont State Periodontal Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Champlain Valley Dental Study Club.

Dr. Lavine served as an instructor at the University of Vermont School of Dental Hygiene, and has presented lectures there, as well as to the American Academy of Periodontology, American Academy of Endodontics, the Long Island Dental Society, Yankee Dental Congress, and about 50 other local and national dental groups.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, Dr. Lavine currently lives in Sherman Oaks, CA. with his wife, Natalie.  He was the 1998-2000 president of the Rotary Club of South Burlington, VT. He is active in many charitable organizations, and he climbs mountains as part of his ongoing commitment to the annual Dentists Climb for a Cause fundraiser ( http://www.climbforacause.org ).
