I learned the hard way: It would have been a much better investment to have started with The Digital Dentist
I was aware of The Digital Dentist when I started my practice, and I chose to go with a local IT company; I felt that using a local firm would provide advantages that couldn't be achieved remotely. I was proven wrong on this. After many of the add-on fees from my local provider, the cost was approaching the monthly cost from The Digital Dentist, and the service was not nearly as good. Also, I found that even the local firm did almost everything remotely anyway, so distance became a non-issue. I was also tentative about paying to fly your team to my office to do the initial installation. After all of the issues that I was having with my old system, I wound up flying your team out here to fix everything anyway, and I had already paid the local guys to do it! So it cost me more in the long run. It would have been a much better investment to have started with The Digital Dentist initially - I would have avoided the problems we were having, and saved a lot of money in the process. But hey, sometimes we have to learn the hard way, all I can say is I'm happy we're working together now!
The reason I switched to your company initially was for your backup services. To call it a "backup" isn't even fair to you, since it's far more than that. My concern is that if my system is ever down, my "backup" would take days to load onto a new server. Because our dental practice is entirely dependent on our computer system, if my computers are down then my practice can't function. I am thrilled that your service includes a way to have my system back up and running in a short period of time (30 minutes) if I ever have a server failure. That peace of mind is worth every penny of your monthly fees.
While the system restoration service is what drew me initially, I've learned over time that there's a lot more reasons to stay with The Digital Dentist. It's nice having an IT company that isn't run by any of the dental supply companies. Yet unlike any other independent IT company I know of, your company is uniquely aware of the needs of dentists. You're familiar with my practice management software, x-ray software, and every other dental-specific aspect of my practice. While you may only provide limited support of other software products, it really helps to prevent the finger-pointing that often happens between vendors. You know enough about each of the products to help figure out which is causing a problem.
Finally, every IT issue I've had has been resolved in a very timely fashion. I'm not even sure sometimes if you have a work order system, because every time I call the service tech fixes the problem right away, usually while we are still on the phone. In a busy dental practice, I don't have the time to wait for problems to be fixed. I couldn't be happier with the level of service that your team provides.

Since I have been with The Digital Dentist, my high tech practice has never had a service interruption.
I am confident that my IT systems are secure. My former system was secure, but the onboarding process with The Digital Dentist demonstrated to me areas where I could improve and thus protect my data from unwanted intrusions. Also, I am no longer dealing with service interruptions because they are managing my high tech practice with better systems management protocols. If there are any issues, I know they will be repaired/restored quickly so I won’t lose much, if any, production. When we need help, our questions are handled quickly, professionally and efficiently.

In the past, when we received a software update from Sirona, it would take days or weeks to work out all of the “bugs”. I paid handsomely for the “work orders” that were required to correct the problems. Since I have been with The Digital Dentist, I pay a flat rate for my service. It is costing me less now that with “the other guys” and the service from you is much more efficient and truly not a disruption to my practice day. This is amazing because “the other guys” were literally within a block of my office and able to come in person to “fix” things. My only regret is that I didn’t listen to my friend and switch over a year earlier than I did. I am so pleased to be a client. I should have switched when I toured your offices in August 2015. With Digital Dentist, we get attention to our problems, which are few, within minutes most of the time. Support is excellent for routine maintenance. The single biggest benefit of hiring The Digital Dentist has been the peace of mind that I now have, that my systems are functioning at all times, and when needed, emergency services are in place to get us through difficult times.
